Vision Pricing Update

We are changing the structure and price of some of our Vision data packages. The new structure is both simpler to understand and makes more data available to our users.

These changes will come into effect on the 1st November 2021 for all new subscriptions and the 1st January 2022 for existing subscribers.

Full details of the changes are broken down by each country and provided below. No changes are being made to our Feature Packs and FYN Packs.

Data Pack Changes by Country

UK

We are merging UK Packs 1, 2, and 3 into a single UK Data Pack that contains all of the data and layers from them at one monthly cost of £100/$160. Additionally, UK Pack 1 will be 'grandfathered' (see below), albeit at a new, higher price.

Ireland

We are merging Ireland Packs 1, 2, and 3 into a single Ireland Data Pack that contains all of the data and layers from them at one monthly cost of £50/$80.

USA

We are merging USA Packs 1, and 2 into a single USA Data Pack that contains all of the data and layers from them at one monthly cost of £50/$80.

Additionally, we're also simplifying our USA offering by merging several additional datasets into the new USA Data Pack:

• US Wealth Index (previously £25/$40). This is a very old data pack that was replaced by the ACS (American Community Survey) Data Pack and is no longer updated. We are retiring this data pack and moving subscribers on to the ACS Data Pack (notwithstanding the changes being made to that).
• ACS (American Community Survey) (previously £50/$80). This is being merged into the new USA Data Pack at no additional cost. It will continue to be updated every year.
• US Business Economic Census (previously £25/$40). This is being merged into the new USA Data Pack at no additional cost.

Canada

We are merging Canada Packs 1, and 2 into a single Canada Data Pack that contains all of the data and layers from them at one monthly cost of £50/$80.

Our original data packs and price for Canada reflected the then-available data in comparison with our offering for other countries. Recently, we've greatly improved the data available for Canada, now offering more granular data and many times more demographics - including the popular income data - which will be updated in line with the release of each census.

Australia

We are merging Australia Packs 1, and 2 into a single Australia Data Pack that contains all of the data and layers from them at one monthly cost of £50/$80.

New Zealand

We are merging New Zealand Packs 1, and 2 into a single New Zealand Data Pack that contains all of the data and layers from them at one monthly cost of £100/$160. Additionally, New Zealand Pack 1 will be 'grandfathered' (see below), albeit at a new, higher price.

FAQ's

Why are your prices changing?

Our current pricing has been in place since Vision launched in 2016. But since then we've made countless improvements to system features and our team has worked hard to improve the data that is available as part of our subscriptions.

More recently, we've invested heavily in our support team to help you get the most from your subscriptions and have until now absorbed the ever-increasing costs of providing a market-leading solution, acquiring the data we make available within our subscriptions, and first-class customer support.

These changes were originally planned for mid-2020 but then in March, we were all hit by the restrictions placed on businesses and our lives by the response to the Covid-19 pandemic. As we have such close relationships with many of our customers, we felt the effect this period had on many of you and we decided to delay these changes for as long as we could.

What is my price changing to?

We've tried to make the changes as clear as possible in the tables above, but we appreciate that the merging of packs to simplify our offering as well as price changes can be confusing. Some customers will see their price decrease, but overall, across all subscriptions, there is an increase of just over £20/$32 per month which equates to an average increase of 11% (which we feel is minimal over almost 6 years).

Do I need to do anything?

We'll handle almost everything from our end and your first invoice from 1st January 2022 will automatically reflect all changes. However, we know a couple of our oldest customers have set up a standing order to pay their invoice each month before we offered Direct Debit. Those customers may need to update their standing order in January 2022.

What if I come and go using Vision?

We are not changing the rolling-monthly nature of our subscriptions. However, it is worth noting that if you regularly dip in and out of being subscribed, and your subscription includes either UK Pack 1 or New Zealand Pack 1, you will be affected by the 'grandfathering' of those packs. After 1st November, should your subscription end for any reason, you will not be able to resubscribe to those packs and will need to subscribe to the new UK or New Zealand Data Packs when starting your next subscription period.

What does it mean for a data pack to be Grandfathered?

Grandfathering allows existing users to continue using a product after its discontinuation but make it unavailable to new subscribers.

UK Data Pack 1 and New Zealand Data Pack 1 offer entry-level data for new and small businesses. Their current price of £25 is a stark difference from the new data packs for those countries which are £100 per month. While the new packs offer so much more data and granularity, the existing packs are still popular with businesses that are new in their franchising journey and have very limited budgets. We wanted to continue to support those businesses as much as possible and minimise their increase in costs while still covering our own.
